Rob Wilcocks

Catchment Restoration Officer - Severn Vale
Operations

Previously I worked as a delivery team leader for Westcountry Rivers Trust, mostly on riparian habitat improvements, leaky dams, and creation of scrapes for natural flood management. Before that I was an arborist, carrying out felling and tree climbing in Plymouth. I grew up on a beef and dairy farm, so enjoy meeting farmers and exploring options for maximising ecological benefits. My role involves working on projects that improve the rivers of the Severn Vale for fish passage, river quality and habitat improvements. My motivation is to create well-functioning river systems that benefit freshwater life and local communities. I’d like to improve habitat connectivity both in freshwater and on land. I grew up on a beef and dairy farm, so I enjoy meeting farmers and exploring options for maximising ecological benefits.
