I started my career in finance, over 20 years ago. My first role was as a trainee in an accountancy practice, and it was here that I started studying towards my ACCA qualification. Since then, I have worked at several different SMEs within Worcestershire in Finance manager roles, also sitting on the leadership teams. Here at Severn Rivers Trust, I am excited to make a move into the charity and environmental sector. My role here sees me overseeing the day-to-day finance function of the charity and trading arm, as well as the analysis reporting, preparing forecasts and liaising with external auditors. It’s been particularly enjoyable for me to learn about the great work the trust does, and to work with a team of people who are so passionate about our rivers and wildlife. Personally, my passions lie within problem solving, increasing efficiencies, streamlining processes, and being involved in business growth and strategy setting. I also enjoy the people side of my role, harbouring good working relationships with all stakeholders is important to me.
