I grew up on a small mixed farm in South Shropshire which gave me a keen interest in wildlife and conservation.
I have spent the last 25 years working for Natural England and the Catchment Sensitive Farming Project as a lead/senior adviser giving farming and conservation advice to farmers and landowners.
I have worked on Agri-Environment Schemes throughout the West Midlands and Severn River Basin including the new Countryside Stewardship (CS) Capital Grant Scheme, Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) and Higher Tier CS.
I also previously supported the management a number of grassland and wetland Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI’s).
My motivation is to support farmers and landowners to strike a balance between productive farming and conservation and take positive action so that Nature Recovery is supported to improve water quality, habitats and species diversity on the land they manage.
