George Clark

Progamme Manager - Lower Severn
Operations

It was Scottish Highlands that cemented the desire to dedicate my career to working for our native wildlife and the landscapes that they depend on. After studying zoology at University of Birmingham, I secured my first job as a ranger at Aigas Field Centre, a showpiece of nature conservation and rewilding in the Highlands. From there my career has taken me to some of the UK’s major nature charities including the RSPB, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and Bristol Avon Rivers Trust where I managed river and wetland restoration, farm engagement and fisheries improvement projects in and around Bristol. A slight side-step to Bristol-based charity City to Sea saw me lead a programme of innovative projects and campaigns aiming to stop plastic pollution at source.

I am now proud to be the Programme Manager for the Lower Severn at SRT where I oversee a talented team to deliver ambitious projects in the catchment and build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders to create even more impact for our rivers, wildlife and communities.
