Having grown up around the Warwickshire Avon, I have always had a strong connection to the river and the wider natural landscape. From an early age, I was particularly drawn to freshwater habitats, especially ponds, and fascinated by the wildlife and biodiversity they support.
Following a career change, I was fortunate to turn this passion into my profession, working as the Wetland Officer at the Heart of England Forest. In this role, I specialised in wetland creation, pond creation and restoration, developing practical experience in designing and restoring habitats that benefit a wide range of species. I have a particular interest in pond invertebrates and amphibians, and in understanding how these often-overlooked habitats can play an important role in supporting healthy and resilient ecosystems.
I hope to use the knowledge and experience gained towards my work at the Severn Rivers Trust. By restoring existing habitats and creating new wetlands and ponds, I want to help build a connected network of freshwater habitats that can support biodiversity, improve water resilience, and provide lasting benefits for both wildlife and people.
