Help shape the future of the River Severn: become a Trustee
Severn Rivers Trust is looking for new Trustees who care deeply about rivers, landscapes and communities, and want to use their professional experience to make a lasting difference.
We are the only charity working across the River Severn catchment from source to sea. Across England and Wales, our teams work with farmers, landowners, communities and partner organisations to restore rivers, create habitat, reduce flood risk and help wildlife recover.
As our ambition, income and delivery continue to grow, our Board plays an increasingly important role in guiding the organisation, providing strong governance and helping us plan confidently for the future.
We are now looking for new Trustees who can bring fresh perspectives, constructive challenge and experience in three priority areas.

Legal services
We are seeking individuals with experience in law, governance, regulatory compliance, charity law or risk management.
You will help the Board maintain robust oversight, navigate legal and regulatory responsibilities and make well-informed decisions as the organisation develops.
Land management and agriculture
We would like to hear from people with practical or strategic experience in farming, land stewardship, catchment management or rural enterprise.
Strong relationships with farmers and landowners are central to our work. This experience will help the Board understand the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities across the Severn catchment.
Organisational growth and development
Severn Rivers Trust is growing quickly, with increasing ambition, income and delivery. We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual who understands both the opportunities and challenges that come with growth.
Your experience might include growing an organisation or business, developing new markets and income streams, building partnerships, planning resources or ensuring growth is supported by the right people, systems and capabilities.
Bringing local knowledge to our Board
The River Severn crosses borders, connecting communities, landscapes and livelihoods across England and Wales.
We particularly welcome applications from people based in Wales and from those living within the wider Severn catchment. Local knowledge, regional connections and an understanding of the communities we serve would bring valuable insight to our Board.
Why become a Trustee?
Joining our Board is an opportunity to help guide a growing environmental charity delivering practical change for rivers and communities.
You will contribute to the strategic direction of Severn Rivers Trust, support responsible and sustainable growth and help ensure our work achieves the greatest possible impact across the Severn basin.
If you have the experience we are looking for and share our commitment to healthier rivers, we would love to hear from you.
