We will also be launching our exciting Summer Placement opportunities. These are designed for students and career starters to equip them with skills and experience to help them build up their CVs.

The first placement is for a River Conservation and Surveying volunteer. Come and learn the essentials of river monitoring including electrofishing, chemical water testing and habitat surveys. Our river experts will train you and you’ll be closely supervised to help you gain knowledge and skills. You’ll have the opportunity to take part in river conservation schemes such as wetland creation, natural flood management and farm walkovers.

The second placement is for a Social Media volunteer. Join our community engagement team and help us to create content for our social media channels (Facebook, X, Instagram and LinkedIn).You will meet with our staff and volunteers online and in person to seek out good news stories from around the river Severn region. You will take photographs and short videos. You will schedule these to be published, helping us connect with our online followers.
