Project aims: Working with landowners in key areas of the Wye, Ithon and River Severn to deliver more sustainable management of soils within Wales.  We shall do this through hedgerow planting and tree planting; soil assessments on farms to identify nutrient and carbon content of the soil; and the provision of a whole farm plans which identify specific targeted actions to help restore soil health.  The project is developing two innovative approaches to natural capital and aim to deliver a reverse auction process for both phosphate and Natural Flood Management/ Carbon.

Major successes:

·      Engaged 87 small -medium business’

·      Established 10 new farming and community networks to help provide a network of knowledge sharing and delivery once the project is complete.

·      Engaged 278 stakeholders in the sustainable management of soils.

·      Planted 2 hectares of woodland.
