Project Completed
Helping eels migrate upstream in the river Stour in Stourport-on-Severn.
The aim of the project is to increase fish passage on the River Stour in the Worcestershire Middle Severn Catchment within Stourport-on-Severn. The River Stour is a key tributary of the River Severn and the Severn Rivers Trust have been working with the Environment Agency to design and build a solution to overcome the barrier under the road bridge which is impassable to eel. This barrier is the first artificial structure that blocks eel migration on the tributary of the Stour and is an important one to overcome for the catchment.
Funding has now been secured from the Environment Agency and Natural Networks to allow these works to happen.
Fishtek Consulting were appointed for both design and build and works are currently set to start at the beginning of September.
