Volunteer with Severn Rivers Trust this winter

Join us for several practical conservation volunteering days this winter - from pond maintenance to woodland planting, there's plenty to get involved with.

Wednesday 1st February – Hedgerow planting, Montgomeryshire (near Llanfyllin)

Hedges and Edges: Join Dewi to help plant new hedgerow plants in a restored hedge line on a farm above Llanfyllin.

Meet at Llanfyllin spar car park at 10.15am. Please bring lunch and come prepared for the outdoor elements.

Wednesday 22nd - Woodland planting, Montgomeryshire (near Llanfyllin)

Join Dewi for a woodland planting session. Learning about setting out a young woodland on the ground so that as the trees grow, they nurture the slow growing trees and provide food and shelter and glades to support a thriving population of local wildlife.

Meet at Llanfyllin spar car park at 10.15am. Please bring lunch and come prepared for the outdoor elements.

 

Saturday 4th March – Willow spilling, Montgomeryshire (near Llanfyllin)

Join Dewi alongside the River Cain for some living willow bank repairing. Using simple techniques, we will build a woven willow fence behind which we will squeeze living willow sprout parcels.

Meet at Llanfyllin spar car park at 10.15am. Please bring lunch and come prepared for outdoor elements.

 

Friday 24th March – Otter holt building, Montgomeryshire (near Llanfyllin)

Join Dewi to help build some otter holts, laying out the sturdy foundations and helping cover the otter log cabins with piles of sheltering and protective brash.

Meet at Llanfyllin spar car park at 10.15am. Please bring lunch and come prepared for outdoor elements.
