About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Finance Officer to support the financial administration of Severn Rivers Trust and our trading subsidiary. You will ensure accurate records, timely reporting, and compliance with charity and funder requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records using Xero
- Process invoices, payments, and expenses
- Raise and manage sales invoices
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with cashflow preparation
- Manage the finance email inbox
- Support grant‑funded project tracking and reporting
- Assist with payroll, pensions, and staff financial records
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and audits
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an individual who can effectively support the financial administration of Severn Rivers Trust and Severn Rivers Ecology, ensuring smooth and efficient day to day financial operations.
The ideal candidate will:
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Possess strong organisational and time management skills.
- Be able to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team, collaborating closely with the Head of Finance & Commercial and the wider management team.
- Have previous experience working in finance, including proficiency with Excel and accounting software (a recognised accountancy qualification would be advantageous).
- Be a proactive problem solver with a forward-thinking approach and the confidence to use their own initiative.
- Be reliable, trustworthy, and committed to maintaining high standards of work.
- Bring a self-motivated, positive, and approachable attitude.
- Have strong communication skills.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle, as the office is located in a remote area.
