Afon Cain – Pont Talwrn
Afon Cain – Pont Talwrn
A 0.9 mile stretch of double bank, wadable fishing. TWO VOUCHERS
This is a linked beat with Green Hall. Pont Talwrn beat ends where Green Hall start. Both are accessed from the same car park. The two beats can be put together or fished individually. Each beat is two vouchers.
The attractive river habitat varies greatly with sharp, slow bends, deep pools and riffles. Overhanging and fallen trees provide endless refuge to an alert and timid trout population. A slow, stealthy approach is required to make the most of the angling.
Species present: Brown Trout.
Potentially Grayling, if any caught or sighted please let the SRT know.
Season: 3rd March to 30th September (inc)
Ideally fished with: 6 to 7.5ft 2 to 3wt rod.
Wading difficulty: 2/5 generally thigh waders should suffice but the occasional deep may be as deep as 4ft. The Cain responds quickly to rain and levels may rise extremely quickly. When the river is up chest waders will be required to fish some of the deeper pools.
Restrictions: Fly fishing only. Catch and release. No dogs.
Parking and Voucher box: SJ 165 189
Beat starts: SJ 165 189 finishes at SJ 177 198
Postcode for SatNav: SY22 5LG
