Project Completed
Removing a local barrier to fish migration within the River Stour, as part of the Black Country Blue Network programme.
The Bridge Street Weir project aims to remove a local barrier to fish migration within the River Stour. This will allow movement of fish species within the river system. Through the project funding and partnership working, the Severn Rivers Trust’s focus is to improve the connectivity of both instream and riparian corridors on the urban catchment of the River Stour which eventually meets the River Severn. The project has been successful in improving the physical structure of the watercourse whilst there are ongoing efforts through other projects to improve the water quality within the river.
